From Tiger to Leopard with a boot-camp partition in place - a question.

If I do a clean install or an upgrade (more likely) will it keep my current bootcamp partition in place?
I have about 35GB on a 500GB drive partitioned off with bootcamp and running XP ( In order to run AVID editing software).
I would rather not have to reinstall the Windows partition. What happens if I run the Leopard DVD install disk? Will it wipe the windows partition or leave it alone?

do an archive install. a straight upgrade is not advisable. the partition will stay as it is, but you'll need to restart into windows and install the finalized driver set that comes with leopard to get rid of all the beta drivers.

What options do I choose from the install disk for that - do you know?

How do I a) get the drivers and b) install them into windows?

if my memory is correct, there will be an 'options' button, or something like that, when you're choosing which drive to put leopard on. it'll give the option of upgrading, archive install, or erase and install. archive is like a clean install of the OS without having to format your drive. it just puts the old system files in a backup folder. your system will still keep all of it's settings like an upgrade.
after you install leopard, just restart into windows run the leopard DVD and run the installer.

Are you saying the drivers are contained on the Leopard install disc? As an .exe file?

i don't know. it just auto-ran.
apple.com/bootcamp.
"Already running Boot Camp? Even easier.
If you’re already working with Boot Camp Beta, you’re practically finished before you start. All you need is some new drivers. To install them, simply start up your Mac in Windows and update the drivers from the Leopard DVD."
