2008-01-16 20:13:26 +0000: Warning: SUID file "usr/libexec/load_hdi" has been modified
and will not be repaired.
If we can take them at their word, then
"will not be repaired" probably means
we should expect to get the same error on those particular files (forever?).
If we ponder *why* won't DU repair them, it could be that suid files are potentially dangerous.
Apple may have taken some of MOAB's warnings seriously... and think this is one way to deal
with the issue. But then we must also ask: why does DU think they're
'modified'? Are one of the
dates different? Or the size? Or something deeper, like a checksum? ithinkso, but idunno.
I don't get any suid errors... so here is one of mine to compare with, if you like:
ls -le /usr/libexec/load_hdi
-r-sr-xr-x 1 root wheel 43280 Nov 9 20:09 /usr/libexec/load_hdi
md5 /usr/libexec/load_hdi
MD5 (/usr/libexec/load_hdi) = 1cdbe4eebf3969b3cfb01497995266e6

Those all seem unnecessary. A new account in Leopard will get an ACL on ~/Desktop.
No idea if the ACL gets copied from the template, or if another step adds it afterwards.
Either way, no big deal. (i.e., so fix it already).

Well, it's "normal" for now. Looks to me though, that *everything* you're getting there
boils down to 2 errors on Apple's end. [Though, we could compare our '
load_hdi' files
to see if dates, sizes or digests do in fact differ.]
Nothing to worry about on the one hand.
Not particularly awe-inspiring on the other.
[but, hats off to Apple for revamping the old system...
hopefully 10.5.2 will straighten out everything above.]
