Hi All!

I'm new to OS X, but have long experience with other *NIX versions.

Running "diskutil checkRaid" shows the status is degraded, but the two disks have a status OK (see below).

I have looked through the diskutil man-page, but have learned only enough to be able to trash the system completely. So I obviously do not want to try anything that would hose the system.

A co-worker found an old note that suggested simply rebooting the machine, but that did not work. At this point I have no idea where to look. Any info or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Jim Mohr

You can use repairMirror to force rebuild the RAID:

diskutil repairMirror /Volumes/MirroredVolume diskX
Where /Volumes/MirroredVolume is the mirrored RAID volume, and diskX is the disk you want repaired. The difficult part is in figuring out which disk to trust.

Could you give me a kick in the right direction in terms of figuring out which drive has the problem? There is a status light on the machine that's orange, but the lights on the drives themselves are both green.
