Hi.

I have a small 60GB hard drive in my Macbook and a separate Users partition. I'm wondering if anyone knows the minimum space to install Tiger and all the subsequent updates. From my previous experience the core Tiger OS is 2.5 GB. With additional updates maybe I only need 1 GB more. What do you guys think?

Also, on the Tiger OS I have installed now, after fully updating through "Software Update" the OS is listed as version 10.4.11. I would think that since Leopard is 10.5.0 that I should be able to update to update to 10.4.9. Can anyone explain this?

I know that it's frowned upon to post two questions in the same thread but I thought they were simple questions for those in the know.
Thanks for all the help!

Apple states that for disk space and Tiger, "At least 3 GB of available hard disk space; 4 GB of disk space including the Xcode 2 Tools."

It is also recommended that you keep 15% free disk space at all times, so for your 60 GB disk, that sounds like about 10 GB free at all times.

The latest version of Tiger is 10.4.11, which came after 10.4.10, which in turn came after 10.4.9. So you have the latest version.

(Not sure why you are asking about space needed to install Tiger and its updates since you seem to have already done that.)

You are confusing 10.4.11 with 10.4.1.1

That's an eleven at the end and not one point one. I believe that's the first time that Apple went past 9 after the decimal point for a version number. Don't worry you have the latest 10.4 version.
