I guess I had deleted my Movies folder with no apparent reason some time ago… and want it back just for the sake of it, I can remember you had to type something like mkdir Movies into the terminal and obviously press intro-return… then to get a localized name you would have to do something like ~/Desktop/.localized BUT I don't know what that means… is that another Terminal command?, if not, how must I proceed?, needless to say, to create a 'Películas' folder doesn't work, it gets a generic icon.

Thanks.

Create a Movies folder with the Finder, then type (or copy) touch ~/Movies/.localized into Terminal and press return.

Thanks TETENAL, I would swear that it was you who had pointed us to that trick before… OK, I got the movies folder back and localized with a proper icon; minor thing is when I do command+Y it still shows Movies, but that's far from bothering me…

In older versions of OS X you had to log out and log back in again to get the Finder to recognize things like that.

Well, I did a reboot but command-y is still showing 'Movies'… anyway that's good enough to me, really.
