Hi,

I have an iMac G5 set up as a standalone machine in a public area in a Uni Library. Recently it was found that someone had copied large amounts of inappropriate material to it. I was wondering if there was a way of locking down the machine so users couldn't access USB flash drives but still have access to the DVD drive? I'm a mac novice & couldn't find any way of locking down just the USB.

You could probably move the IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext out of System/Library/Extensions. Make a new folder called ExtensionsDisabled and put it in there. You might need to reboot, but it should disable USB storage devices.
