Dear all,

I trashed some key system files from /System/Library of my MacBook Pro.
Incidentally, I cannot open Mail.app anymore...and get the message error that some image file [or folder] is missing.
More precisely, I put to the bin every files located at,
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/iLifeMediaBrowser.framework/Versions/A/iLifeMediaBrowser

Would some of you know if by any chance, I could extract the iLifeMediaBrowser framework from the Leopard DVD itself please?
Therefore, I wouldn't have to re-install my whole working environment...

Any suggestion would be great. Thanks.

Without knowing exactly what it is you deleted, it might be easier to do an archive and install to get everything back. However, search MacUpdate: Apple Macintosh Software & Game Downloads for Pacifist to be able to install components from your install discs.

Pacifist is the way to fly. However, JKT is right, if you have tossed some files that you are not sure of you will be better off simply doing an A&I. I don't know what your concern is about having to re-install your whole working environment. An A&I is designed to keep your settings, this ain't Windows...

In the future it would be more prudent not to touch anything in the System folder. But since you messed with it already you can try to pacifist the files back or better yet do an A&I.
