Hi,

I don't know if this is a bug or a feature, however, it's annoying.

When I connect to a samba share (no matter if it's a NAS running Linux oder another Mac running samba-server) from any 10.5 Mac (I tested this on various 10.5.1 - 10.5.2 machines), whenever I create or modify files, these have the rights 764 (-rwxrw-r--) afterwards. Altough I implemented a 'force create mask = 775' in smb.conf. When I do similar on a Win-Client, Linux-Client oder OSX 10.4 Client, the files show correct rights of 775 (-rwxrwxr-x).

Does anyone know how?

Thanks

Apple - Support - Discussions - Sharing Permissions in Leopard ...

I found this Apple discussion with someone having a similar problem.
