Gadgets Virus: Plug-'n'-Play USB Virus Makes MacBooks Fall to Pieces

This article implies that a Mac will autorun an application on a USB drive, which I didn't think was possible. Are they full of hot air?

Troika | art and design studio | london | art virus

Newton Virus comes on a USB key for manual infection. Simply plug the key into a computer and the virus will automatically copy itself on the hard drive.

hmmm.

Couple that with the recent USB/FW DMA exploit, and you've got an automated password stealer. Plug in, wait a moment, and walk away with passwords.

It's an art house. With a cool-looking video. That appears to do something that isn't technically possible.

Unless somebody actually gets a copy of this virus, I'm thinking it's just a video.

I know the MBP has a sudden motion sensor, but is it really smart enough to detect movement with that kind of precision?

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Do Something When allows programs to do something whenever something else happens (e.g. like inserting a USB drive) but it's not a default behavior in OS X.

I don't know about precision, but there was enough sensitivity last time I tried (AMSVisualizer):
