I recently added an external backup drive using both SuperDuper! and time machine to backup.

WHY on occasions does my system arbitrarily choose to boot from the external drive??

HELP I'm a new convert to Mac!!

Not possible unless you have it set up that way. Go to System Preferences and select Startup Disk. Make sure that your internal disk is selected as the startup disk.

Thanks Steve..

Not sure if this is possible, BUT when i went into system preferences, BOTH disks were grayed out!! I think my system was alternate booting from my Internal and External drives... Nevertheless I now selected my internal drive and I'll see what happens.

Anybody ever hear of such a thing??
