I want to have a "custom image" in my background and blend it into an "Apple Image." Is there anyway I can do this rather than having my "custom image" and a simple background of white, blue, pink....

I don't know what either of you are talking about, but it's definitely not OS X related.

Is this GUI customization or an application?

You need some kind of an image editor to do this (like Photoshop).

Thought so. I am getting it later on this week.
Is there a way to view the Apple Images with nothing in the background such as Mac HD, the Dock and the top menu bar?

If you want to see the actual images, you can use the Finder to browse to Library/Desktop Pictures. If you're on Mac OS 10.5 you can then use QuickLook to view them and even in fullscreen.
