How do you rename a BT device in Tiger?

This is a somewhat silly question but I simply can't find a way to rename a paired BT device in Tiger. Right now the device just has some generic name like "Bill's keyboard". The BT pref has a configure button, but it's grayed out. I swear there used to be a way to change that name, but I can't find out what it was.

I haven't got a BT keyboard attached at the moment, but doesn't rename within Sys Prefs > Keyboard & Mouse > Bluetooth
