Since updating from 10.5 to 10.5.2.....

Photoshop 7 doesn't work.

BBC Widgets ≈ most don't work.

I get the impression that most things are now slower, inc start-up and shutdown.

I'd like to revert to 10.5, w/o re-installing 10.5 from DVD, is it possible.

Failing that, can I revert to 10.5 from 10.5.2 using installation discs ?

I don't want to have to go back to 10.4

I gather 10.5.3 is on it's way, does this address my problems does anyone know ?

iMac Intel Core i5, 2.5GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB 21.5" Monitor 10.7.4.

Internal 500gb / 160gb plus External 500gb x 2 (2x Time Machine)

You can use the archive install option from the DVD, which preserves users, network settings, applications, etc. It just installs (without formatting the drive or erasing anything) a new copy of the OS - in this case 10.5 from the DVD.

That seems like a great idea, and I can always update to 10.5.2 again if it's no better, thanks.

I've just done a Time Machine and Carbon Cloned backup, so I'll try this tomorrow, in daylight !

Just before I do, has anyone else done this, notice any improvement ?

Just remember that with 10.5.0 you'll lose your data if you try to move something and the move fails for any reason (even a permissions issue).

Understood, I think I'll wait and see that 10.5.3 has to offer in the way of improved compatibility.

I am surprised though that Adobe are not supporting Photoshop in 10.5, as Graphics Converter does, and it's a whole lot cheaper too.

My #2 GFX package has just become #1.

Photoshop is not competing with GraphicsConverter. That's like saying, "I can't believe you can't drive your car on the sidewalk. Roller skates work on the sidewalk!"

Thanks all, I had a think, and chose a safe option, installing 10.4.11 and PS7 onto external HD, as here

Sadly, Photoshop 7 wouldn't have worked on 10.5 anyway
