Leopard's Disk Utility can non-destructively repartition. Open it, select your hard drive (not a volume), click the Partition tab, and click the + button to add a partition. Drag the slider to adjust as desired.

It's always a great idea to backup before messing around with your hard drive's partition tables.

It can to some extent.

It can extend partitions if there's free space after the partition and it can reduce partition size too. But what it can't do is change the point a partition starts. Depending on what type of partitioning you plan to do you might not be able to accomplish it with Leopard's DU.

Also, it'll give you a warning if you've already partitioned for Boot Camp.

Just pay attention to the fine print and feel free to check back with us if you have a setup Simon mentioned, or a setup outside the norm of 1 hard drive, 1 partition.
