I have a group on my XServe for Faculty with about 35 users and another group for Students with 1 user (username: student), and on all my Leopard machines members of the Faculty group take between 3 and 10 minutes to log in whereas the student user takes between 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Is there a way to log the processes that are launched or that are running during the login process so I can check them and compare? I'm trying to whittle down every possible difference between the two groups to solve this issue.
