Is there any way to selectively choose which hard drives to automatically put to sleep with the setting in the 'energy saver' preference pane?
I have a Mac Pro with 4 HDs, two of which I rarely use. The lesser used drives are mainly dump locations for movies, music/audio that I collect but don't include in my itunes, and other random stuff I come across. My main HD runs OS X and apps, and my 2nd main HD houses my itunes and iphoto liraries. I would prefer to keep the main drives running 24/7 (waiting for the drive to wake up when I try to play a song in itunes drives me crazy), and have the 2 lesser used drives in sleep mode when not in use.
The HD sleep setting in the energy saver pane is not that useful in my case because there's zero customization options. Are there any little apps that take better control of the HD sleep function? Or some unix goodness that'll take care of this?
