hi has anybody had this problem?

My mouse pointer keeps disappearing on the screen. Sometimes it changes from an arrow to a hand then back without being touched, before it disappears. Sometimes it reappears when I jiggle my mouse, and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it reappears when I click, and again sometimes it takes several clicks to become visible again. the problem with this is that if the pointer happens to be invisibly hovering over something clickable at the time then it can activate and I am off to a new window or something.

Is this something common?

Does anyone have a solution?

MacOS X hides the mouse pointer as soon as you start typing or in other situations (e. g. when you are watching a movie full screen). So it is expected behavior that it disappears.

However, it should reappear immediately as soon as there is a mouse input (e. g. a click). What kind of mouse do you have? Have you installed third-party drivers?
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

The mouse is a standard white mouse on a lead, running on an intel imac = i have not installed any new drivers - everything is pretty standard as it came.
