Hi,
I posted on here a few months ago about our PC classroom going to iMacs next year & everyone was great help with my questions (particularly about the Remote Desktop feature).

I have a few more Q’s (our IT guy is new to macs so need some more help .

They will be set up with multiple users like our PCs were (one user login for each class period). It is our understanding that the iMacs come with built in chat, webcam and speaker. Can the speaker be muted on the student logins? And can the ichat and webcams be disabled? (if so how)

It’s not a media class, so we don’t need sound. Our PCs didn’t have speakers though a few had monitors with built-in speakers and they proved disruptive at times. We would also prefer kids did not have the ability to chat or send video of themselves from class.

Thanks for any help.
Mr. TG

Use the Parental Controls settings in the System Preferences to decide which apps can or cannot be used. I don't recall if sound control is there as well, but if not, there must be something on Versiontracker than can permanently turn off the sound.
