Short story: I took my mac to the campus store to have them reformat my drive. It was fragmented and could not be partitioned. They didn't have tiger disks, and installed me leopard before restoring my settings. I didn't mind.

But, I want to go back to tiger. I have my tiger discs, but nothing else. It's been about a two years since I bought this mac. Did my tiger discs have any verification codes or anything? Im asking because if they did i do not have them. I just have them in the original sleeves. And I don't want to reformat before I find out for sure. thanks.

No verification codes on original Tiger disks.

Thank you. One final question, glad I remembered this one. Is there any way to get bootcamp for tiger now? I remember downloading beta when I had tiger but obviously don't have that file anymore. I would like to boot windows too.

The beta of Boot Camp is "expired." That means it looks for the system date and refuses to work if the date is after the expiration date. Go to Apple's Boot Camp site and look at what they have there if you need more information than that. However, you should be able to set up your Windows partition with Leopard/Boot Camp BEFORE you format the OS X partition, then choose to install Tiger over the existing Leopard installation. That won't impact the Windows partition at all, nor will it make that partition un-bootable (though you won't have the newest version of the Preferences tool).

Excellent info. I guess I'm in between a rock and a hard place though. My drive won't partition. It's saying it's "too fragmented" again, hence me wanted to just wipe clean and install tiger, then boot camp. Though it appears that is not possible. Geez.

I didn't say, "not possible." In fact I gave you a VERY broad hint on how to go about it using Tiger and the beta of Boot Camp. It's just not "intuitively obvious to the most casual observer," that's all.
