Hey guys, Im sorry if this this is in the wrong place or anything, but for the first time in the two years Ive had my mac, I need to troubleshoot it.
Every time I turn my computer on, it shows the "Starting OS X" progress bar as normal, but once it fills completely, nothing happens. Ive force shut down and restarted it, waited at that screen for hours while I was at work, and didnt get any luck.
If it helps, I was restarting from a system update when this happened. Im running Tiger on my Mac Mini.
Also, I have tried to start it in safe mode, but it just seems to try to load OS X as normal.
Any help at all is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Start up in single user mode and record any error or other log messages you see. Hold command-s at startup for that. Type reboot and press return to restart your machine normally.
You could also try holding shift during startup so that the machine doesn't load most extensions, but it sounds more like your update messed up somewhere.
Worst case scenario, you can do an Archive & Install of Tiger and update that, which should give you a clean slate while still retaining all of your important files.

Single user/safe mode aren't doing anything. Its trying to load the OS like Im not pressing anything. Maybe im doing something wrong, but I dont think that I am.
I just left it to grind for about an hour. When I came back on to see if any magic happened, a message was on the screen saying "You will need to restart your computer. To do this, hold the power button for waiting 15 seconds, and press it again." Dont know if this helps, but its a different result.
How would I go about an Archive and install?

If you have another machine you could put the non-booting one in target disk mode and try applying the 10.4.11 combo update on it.

Reset the pram. If that don't work, pop in the install disc and do a repair disk. While your in there, repair permissions too. If that doesn't work, copy your important data to whatever you want and do a clean install.

See the link below for more about Archive Install. To do it, boot from your OS X install/restore DVD (either what you purchased at retail or what came with your Mac, depending on whichever is newer) and go through the installation steps. At one point you'll get an options or customize button, which will let you choose from among the installation options (Upgrade, Archive Install, Clean/Erase).
