I will try to clear as possible with my problem, I apologize in advance for any confusion.

I am working with FCP and other programs such as CS2 etc.
I am on a Mac Pro connected to an XServe.

Recently we added another RAID 5 to our setup. We moved the old RAID 5 that was connected to the X-Serve and directly connected it to the Mac Pro, and took our new RAID 5 and connected that one to the X-Serve (the X-Serve is connected to the Mac Pro also). We copied all the files over from the old Raid 5 to the new Raid 5 so that they are identical.

We renamed both RAID 5s. Now whenever I launch applications like FCP, it will say "X-Serve Raid" cannot be mounted, and then quits (this is the name of the old RAID 5 setup that was connected to the X-Serve). I did try to rename the old RAID 5 (which is now directly connected to the Mac Pro) to it's old name "X-Serve Raid" , but I am still having the same problem. If, however, I rename the NEW RAID 5 to "X-Serve Raid" (which is connected to the X-Serve, not directly to the Mac Pro) , I do not have this problem.

What I want to be able to do is launch FCP without it needing to look for the raid 5 on my X-Serve. How do I do this?

EDIT: OR if FCP needs files from one of the RAID 5s to start up, how do I make it look for the Old Raid 5 which is directly connected to the Mac Pro instead of looking for the RAID 5 on the server. Both RAID 5s store identical data.

Sounds like your issue is in FCP System Settings.

all the scratch disks are set to the Mac's OS hard drive, not the RAID 5. Also, that would not explain why all the other programs look for the RAID volume on start-up.
