Hi there.

I'm thinking of getting some fast mass storage and moving the design team in our studio from local to portable user accounts.

Does anyone have any experience of this type of setup. We hot desk a lot in our busy 10 man graphics studio so in theory it sounds like a good idea but what is it like in practice? How does it affect network and local performance, does it open up a can of worms that I just don't know about. Any thoughts would be great.

Wow, this is a first! A quiet MacNN.

Was this just a stupid question or does no-one use portable user accounts?

If it's the former if someone could point me to a thread anywhere where this has been covered I'd appreciate it and sorry for wasting anyone's time. I have had a hunt about but couldn't turn anything up.

That's the first time I've ever been to this great site - thank you DarkStarRed. (Although I do find it a bit strange that a Mac OS X Server administrator site has its pages end in .htm instead of .html. . . .)
