ok so my computer wouldnt start up.. it was just a blank screen with a folder with a question mark in the middle flashing constantly.. i asked around no one knew what to do.. a few people recommended that i try to reboot using the back up disks to see if my computer recognizes my hardware.. i did that and it worked. i am able to go on to my computer.. but now it says that i have 14.7 when i need 14.9 for all the programs to run.. is this something that i can just download real quick.. the disk i put in must have not been as up-to-date as my computer was. im sorry if i am not making this clear. if anybody has any info on what i can do it would be greatly appriecated.. thanks!!

What is 14.7 and 14.9 referring to? Versions? Doesn't make sense.

Boot from an install disk by holding the "c" key at boot and select Disk Utility from the Applications menu at the top of the installer screen when it appears. Try repairing your disk and reboot.

You probably mean 10.4.7 and 10.4.9.

Run Software Update from System Preferences to grab the most recent updates for OS X 10.4 (the latest OS version is actually 10.4.11).
