blank CD won't mount

hi all:

the title pretty much says it all. i tried 3 different blank CD's and none of 'em showed up on the desktop. had to restart to eject.

then tried a pre-recorded CD and it showed up fine. anyone have any ideas?

Which machine? Which OS? What are your settings in the CDs & DVDs preferences?

Yeah, check your System Preferences. Blank discs only show on the desktop if the system has the Finder handle them. If iTunes comes up instead, the disk will be available for burning in iTunes but won't show on the desktop (until it's burned).
