Anyone else having problems displaying AVI files with Quicktime and Perian after upgrading to 10.5.5 ?

Since upgrading an iMac I can no longer display AVI files without serious stuttering and freezes. If I reboot under 10.5.4 everything is fine. I have not as yet attempted to explore whether it is Quicktime or 10.5.5.

Perhaps there's a newer version of Perian you can upgrade to.

Leopard: 10.5.5
Quicktime: 7.5.5
Perian: 1.1

AVI files playing just fine for me.
