Hi,
I am currently using a MBP core duo 2.0 ghz with 2gb of ram with 10.4.11 on it.

I use my system for web browsing with firefox, viewing videos with VLC, downloading podcasts using itunes and watching flash video in firefox.

However, i love to multitask and hate GUI lag.

I was wondering would i see any performance increase/decrease with an upgrade to 10.5? I don't use any cutting edge apps that require 10.5 so that is not a problem.

My main concern is performance, something I would like to know before I shell out any money

Would love any experiences you can share and if you could please let me know what hardware you were using

Thanks in advance

If speed is what you're after, I'd wait 'till SnowLeopard comes out, allegedly in January 09. It promises to clean up the code so as to make everything work a lot faster and better. Why spend $129 now, when you can have a much better system in a few months?

More likely Summer '09.

I thought January '09 seemed a little anxious...

It really is your call. Snow Leopard has been announced and is due late spring/early summer of '09. If you can wait that long, then put the money towards that. The only reason I would say wait is the fact that you'd be paying $129 now and probably another $129 next year to upgrade again.

Nothing you do is particularly demanding, and you are fine with Tiger.

I'd wait till the release of Snow Leopard.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
