My adminstrative password is somehow corrupted, it is the correct username and password that I have been using for years (propercaps and spacing).

Right before this happened I had just entered a new account (G4) with admin power and put in a password, which worked for about an hour and then POOF!, no longer working.

I've tried with no success on installing from OSX and reset password, but it still wouldn't take it and at start up only the NEW admin login (G4) user is available.

When I go to Accounts in System Prefs, it's blank, all other System prefs work but I cann't even access accounts, now I can't even apply admin to anything, no download of application or anything.


Any idea, should I buy and Run Norton Utilities or other system fix. NOT ONYX, which I ran two days ago and crashed my entire System.

Any help would be appreciated.

No to Norton, it never worked properly on OS X. If anything, get Disk Warrior, the top rated OS X disk utility. Have you done an Archive and Install reinstall of OS X yet? It gives you clean copy of the OS while preserving the rest of your files and applications.
