I use many internet connections. At home I connect through wireless, in the office I plug into the router since we dont have wireless because of a fear of hackers, and during travel occasionally I will use 56k. How can I easily switch to the different connections? Is this possible?

Also is there a way to see exactly how much space is used and available on my hard drive?

Use locations in Network preferences for different connection setups.

"Get Info" on a drive shows you how much space is available.

Leopard supports multiple Locations in the Network system preference if you need to change DNS or something when you're in different places.

Click on your hard drive and press command-I.

You don't need extra locations at all actually.

When you plug in Ethernet your Mac will use that. When it recognizes your home wireless network it will connect automatically to it (tell it to remember that network). When neither are available and you dial in via modem it will use that.

You can define different locations in Sys Prefs > Network, but for the switching you describe it's not required. It's a Mac, things are supposed to be that simple.
