Hey guys, ive just treated myself to a new monitor swing arm for my 2nd screen so i can switch it between Portrait and Landscape as required (graphic designer) and wondered if its possible to create a script to rotate the screen res from portrait to landscape at the touch of a button (rather than going through system preferences)

i have played with automater but cant find an option for it other than to record a macro and tbh... bugger that! i think u might be able to do it using scipts but i dont know how to code them, wondered if anyone had managed to do this in the past/knows how to do it.

what im after is possible is two (or one is possible) icons in my dock (if thats the way to do it) which at a click will rotate the screen res 90 degrees from 1680 x 1050 to 1050 x 1680

thanks

Matt

is there also while im on the subject of it a way of taking a url from safari, saying www.video.com/01.mov and automatically getting it to download 01.mov to _ _.mov into a folder (if possible a different folder each time) to save me manually doing it.
