Sorry - I'm actually using OS 10.4.11 and obviously, it's still a PowerPC system.
This could be relevant but I'm not so sure, regardless the problem came out of
a recent system update and now DVD ISOs don't mount properly, Thanks
************************************************** **************************

I have an iBook G4 that I use pretty much as a home theatre PC....for the longest time I'd just use OS X to mount ISO files of DVDs I have, and so once the ISO was mounted, the DVD player would open and just read the ISO file as if the original DVD were in the disk drive. It worked perfectly for ages until the apple software updater thing told me there was a migration CD/DVD mounting...something or the other, and I figured getting this update will improve stability or speed, but instead once I let it install, my mac doesn't mount the ISOs correctly anymore, it treats them like DMGs (I guess?) because the dvd player software claims it doesn't have any viable dvd media to play from.

What's the deal with this update patch? Do I need to mount DVD ISOs differently now? if not, is there a way to uninstall the patch?

Thanks

When you mount them, they show up as a drive on the Mac like any other dmg, correct? If they're from DVDs, they should have a VIDEO_TS folder. Start DVD Player and choose Open. You should be able to choose the image's VIDEO_TS folder and play your video.

An alternative program for this is VLC.
