Hi,

So after running the Quicktime, iTunes, and Safari updates on Friday, my Powerbook wouldn't restart anymore. I got the prominent blue screen of death that people got when they first upgraded to Leopard. I tried Safe Boot and it still didn't start. After that I booted into single user mode, but I wasn't able to fix it. So I ran Archive & Install after that. (First time ever). The system came up to its usual Desktop and all the settings stayed the same. Weird thing was that my user account password didn't work anymore, and I had to reset it before being able to login. So everything is back to normal now, which surprises me because I thought that Archive & Install would put all my old stuff in an old user account folder, instead of keeping that account.

The only thing that is not really working right now is Preferences for Safari. I get this window after going to Safari -> Preferences.

At first I got a weird window for Mail -> Preferences also, but that has gone away since I right clicked on an Account and chose to edit it.

Any help would really be appreciated. Also if you can explain me what happened on the Archive & Install would really help me. Thank you.

When you did the archive and install, did you apply updates after doing so?
