I have search for an Apple menu extra/item where I do click and get the command-Y preview without the keyboard combo hassle, sort of what PowerMail's toolbar has… to its very own pleasure. Given command-y novelty is no more, would anyone code such a thing?

Pressing the space bar is too much of a hassle for you?

And the Finder toolbar has a button for QuickLook. It's the eye. If you don't have the in the Finder toolbar select View->Customize Toolbar and drag the default set into the toolbar.

Thanks to both of you.

Well, I don't like the space bar as means to activate Quick Look cause I browse the Finder as list view (command-2) and I would expect the space bar to scroll it down. Blame my "oh that's my browser" point of view. Since I understand such a view isn't academic so to speak, I was looking for a third party solution…

Yes, I do know about Finder's Quick Look button (who wouldn't?) and I like it, needless to say that's what I would like to get as a Menu Extra item. My apologies if my words give you the opposite belief.
