I have no idea how this happened and i'm tired of living with it.

Can't move anything in or out of Dock. Can't change the position of an icon. Ancillary functions of mini menu for dock icons have disappeared, other than Open, Open at Login and Show in Finder. Program running does show up but unable to anchor it there.

Can't find an unlock feature in prefs under dock, system or otherwise and of coarse running permissions update does nothing.

I have no desire to do a reinstall and will sooner live with it but would much rather not. Any clues anybody ??

have u used anything like onyx, or cocktail? some of these programs allow you to lock the dock.
perhaps..download a 10.4-compatible version of one of these apps, and try locking then unlocking the dock...

actually, just a sigh of relief. it's a great thing when we figure this stuff out (as opposed to just doing archive and installs, etc...

i keep my dock locked (that's what made me think of this!)

Great indeed !! Funny thing is Onyx is in my Dock. I don't think I've touched it since it was installed. For that matter i think i forgot its function .. LOL t just looked like a cool thing at the time.

A little memory lapse goes a long way

Ciao,
Kyle
