Hello all this is pretty much the first problem I've had to ask on the forums about instead of just searching and finding the answer.
I have a G4 iMac running OS X 10.3 but I need to restore it entirely to get ready to sell it. I have the original restore disc with OS X 10.2 on it (I upgraded a while ago). I have tried to restore the OS by inserting the restore disc and restarting the computer when prompted. After restarting the computer will try to load the disc but then it freezes and tells me I have to restart my computer by holding the power key.
If I restart it this way it repeats the same process and freezes and the only way to boot OS X without a problem is to reset the PRAM. I've tried a few things that haven't worked... so any ideas?
Note - another interesting thing is that in Single User mode the system freezes with a kernel panic sometimes. But recently I couldn't eject the disc and Single User mode did load and I had to force eject it in terminal.
