using RAID0 for backups is a really really bad idea. You get one burp or corruption on one drive and you lose your data.
RAID0 for your data makes sense when you need the performance AND you have a solid backup plan for that data, using it as a backup solution decreases the viability of the backed up data. There's really no reason to need the performance of RAID0 for backups, i.e., the risk > reward.
