Can someone please let me know why I might be receiving the following error message each time Time Machine attempts to perform a backup?

I am getting this error on my Mac Pro desktop machine running Leopard 10.5.6, and my Time Machine Volume is an eSATA 4TB RAID+0 (striped; 4 x 1TB disks).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

Why do you use RAID 0 for backup?

I am using Raid 0 for my Time Machine Volume because I can use 4 x 1TB disks at $100 each to get a total of 4TB of backup space for a mere $400...pretty cheap if you ask me

You have a 4-disk RAID0? That's asking for trouble IMHO.

using RAID0 for backups is a really really bad idea. You get one burp or corruption on one drive and you lose your data.

RAID0 for your data makes sense when you need the performance AND you have a solid backup plan for that data, using it as a backup solution decreases the viability of the backed up data. There's really no reason to need the performance of RAID0 for backups, i.e., the risk > reward.

If anything you'd want JBOD, not RAID0.

A four disk RAID0 is most definitely asking for trouble.
