When I open the Console and select either All or Console Messages under the LOG DATABASE QUERIES section nothing shows up. Viewing specific log files is fine. A while back I googled around and found a fix but it required a reboot which I wasn't willing to do at the time. I can't find the solution anymore and was wondering if anyone had an idea what I need to do to get it working again.

Edit: This is under Leopard 10.5.6

Are messages actually being logged to the log file in /var/log? I would suggest doing a tail -f on the file and watching to see if it logs new entries. If it doesn't, the problem is not a Console application problem.

Yes. The log files in the /var/log directory are getting written to. If I select the system.log under the LOG FILES section in the Console App I see data.

Edit: On my computer with 10.5.4, it appears the log is in /var/log/asl.db. On my computer with 10.5.6 that file doesn't exit. In its stead is a /var/log/asl directory with an empty file in it called StoreData.
