Hi there!

How could I make visible folders like var, usr, net, dev, etc...?
I remember to sometimes having them visible but not in my present installation... Don't know why...

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,

Gerard

In the terminal, write:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE

and then restart the Finder with

killall Finder

TinkerTool (freeware, TinkerTool: Description) has an option, in the Finder tab, to "Show hidden and system files".

Perhaps that will help.

While that command worked fine in Tiger, Leopard can be a bit fussier about this.
When writing, it helps to expressly include "-bool" (regardless of TRUE, YES or 1):

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -bool TRUE
