Best Way To Find What Processes Are Controlling Disks?

I've got some persistent disk activity, but I can't seem to determine what's going on with a machine. I see that there's a disk activity option in Activity Monitor, but it only shows overall activity, rather than what's going on to the disks, ideas? Thanks!

You're looking for lsof.

Try a
man lsof
to learn how to use it.
