My wife has a boot problem (in my eyes) on her new iMac...it always boots into the admin account without requesting a password.

For a while she only had the admin account she made on setup and I convinced her she needed a normal user account...which she did. I've tried logging out and it still boots back up the same undesirable way.

I wanted this cause her iMac sits on her desk in the kithchen area and has turned into a public computer when anyone gathers at the house...you know pistures, music or online activities like Facebook.

How can I configure so it boots into a login screen ???

System Preferences-->Accounts-->Login Options. Make sure automatic login is set to disabled.

Or, System Preferences-->Security. Under the General tab, check the box to disable automatic login.

Both options do the same thing.

Thanks for the quick response 64strang06...wife's family was on the way for a familly cookout and I wanted them as normal users. You nailed it and now a password is required.

Now that Dad has fixed Ma's Mac, maybe Dad will be rewarded Thanks again 64strang06
