Hi everyone,

I've recently acquired a mac book from a friend who was moving away. I bought a new hard drive and a copy of osx leopard to install on it. after installing the hard drive, when i try to boot from the install dvd, i immediately get a grey screen with a picture of a lock, and a small area to type in a password. I've asked my friend about this and he has no clue what it is and nor do i. Is this something similar to a bios password on a pc? if so is there a way to reset this?

Yeah, it's a firmware password. Your friend is sure he didn't set one?
