After updating to 10.6.1, my browsers (both Safari and Firefox) hang when trying to watch (Flash) videos at Yahoo and ESPN (including this page at ESPN.com and this one at Yahoo.com).

Anyone else having problems with Flash video? Any suggestions/solutions? As far as I know, everything is up to date.

Flash video causes my MacBook to freeze up for about 10 seconds before anything works again. Flash just sucks.

All I can suggest is try reinstalling Flash with the latest installer.

The Flash plugin on the Mac is an absolute disaster.
Adobe is killing the Mac web-browsing experience with their crap.

Thanks for the replies. I first tried re-installing the Flash player; that didn't work. So I re-installed 10.6.1 via the combo update. That worked.

Incidentally, I've been going the combo update route for quite a while (since the time I had network problems after an update; combo update fixed that, too) but thought I'd try Software Update with Snow Leopard. Anyway, I think I'll stick with the combo update from now on.

Has the combo updater fixed this for anyone else? I have been having similar problems, no fun at all to watch my laptop beachball for ~10 seconds just because of some stupid flash video...
