for some reason, when i delete files i sometimes get this issue:
MobileMe Gallery

quick video link above. shows that i can only delete files immediately and the trash isn't used. anyone know why this problem shows up sometimes?

That happens to me when I delete stuff from a NTFS formatted drive, but I guess that's not the issue there :-/

Pull up the permissions on your Trash folder - see if it's been set read-only for you. Your Trash folder is in your user folder. You can make your Trash folder visible by using TinkerTool to make all files/folders visible.

Or simply Finder > Go > Go to Folder > ~/.Trash and doing a Get Info on it.
