Is there a way to force Software Update to store the updates on a drive other than the one OS X Server is installed on?
We have an older G4 Server with OS X Server that's run out of room. Due to technical and timing issues, we can't turn the server off and move the OS to a bigger drive.
As an IT tech myself, if you can't spare the hour one evening to image that machine to a bigger drive, what are you going to do if it falls on its face tomorrow? I'm not trying to be high and mighty, I'm just curious.
This isn't my campus, the local tech wanted to know if I could do that. I already suggested moving the whole thing to the bigger drive, but she doesn't want to.
Otherwise I'm just going to suggest moving it again. Seems like too much trouble.
