I didn't see any threads on this but I just ran software update and updated Java for 10.6 update 1. Has anyone had any problems since the update? I rarely have problems in Mac OSX so I'm wondering if there's a connection between my problems and the update.

I'm sorry this is a bit murky but the problems are hit-and-miss, and not one single thing -- things like tapping-to-click isn't always working on certain items (in Safari at least), 4-finger scroll down removes my Dock momentarily on first try then reverts to normal behavior on the next try, and for a little while not all apps appeared when I shift between them with Cmd-Tab (sometimes only one app appears, although it seems to be intermittent), etc.

I have run Repair Permissions and I'm running 10.6.2 on a fairly new MacBook Pro with 4GB RAM. I checked Activity Monitor and Safari's using about 12% of the CPU and the Flash plugin is using 10%. I have about 10 Safari windows and multiple tabs in several of them (but I've been doing that for a while). Don't know if any of that helps, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case.

As I said, I have experienced many OSX problems. Would it be a good idea to re-install the 10.6.2 update from Apple.com or is there something else I should try first?

Thanks in advance!

Actually, after posting I ran the latest Airport update and restarted. I haven't noticed any of the previous problems after restarting (yet!).

You know what I noticed with the latest Java update? It never asked me for my administrative password. It just went ahead and did its thing. Kind of made me uncomfortable. But all seems well enough.

It is an uncommon fix, but sometimes for uncommon problems a restart is the cure.

Same problem! Have you find a solution? Most Java Apps hang after the last Java Update.
