Hello,
I recently (yesterday) upgraded to snow leopard from a slowing Leopard 10.5.8. Did not perform a clean install, just installed over Leopard. The process went fine, everything seemed to work well (a lot snappier too) right until I tried to install iLife '09. I run the installer from the dvd, accept the terms / agreement, however when I click "Install" it does absolutely nothing. So I'm thinking ok maybe the issue was resolved with the 10.6.2 update. I download the combo update, run it and again the SAME problem. I get right upto the point where I need to click install to begin the installation process, and there's NO response. Keep mashing the install button and it does nothing.

I'm running a MBP 2.33 C2D with 2GB RAM.
I've tried verifying/repairing permissions without any results. Google didn't yield any results or info on this either. Might have to try a clean install if nothing else gives.
Has anyone seen this problem before? Any input would be appreciated.

Were you able to install iLife before th OS update? Have you tried installing it on another computer? You could have a bad install disk.

Well, the problem isn't isolated to iLife (which is a family pack and has been installed successfully on other computers). I downloaded the combo update to jump from 10.6.0 to 10.6.2, and when I run that installer it has the same problem. Go through all the steps after after opening the .pkg file, and it just stops short of actually installing the product. The problem is common to all installers I've tried so far.

I'm surprised I can't find anything related to this, makes me wonder if anyone else has faced this issue?
I guess a clean install would be the only next step.

Try creating a fresh admin account. Try installs from there. It might just be something borked with your main account.

This is the correct answer.
It probably had a problem bringing up the admin / password authorization for installation. I didn't create a fresh admin account, instead I just did a clean install and restored from my time machine backup. Now everything is silk. Time Machine finally paid off!
