	sorry if my title is less then accurate for a long time in many OS on reboot or restart the Mac does not remember the placement on the desktop and style (ie list etc) of the folders when you re-open them at least in 10.5.8 if you just close and reopen the second time is the charm hope this helps someone as its been anoying me for a long time cheers
