Hello all, I realise this may be a very common query but can't seem to find a definite answer. I am running Tiger 10.4.11 on my macbook pro (Intel). Is it possible to upgrade to snow leopard with the 29 dollar upgrade or is it absolutely necessary to go for the more expensive box set?

Just being careful as I have been reading some contradicting articles, appreciate your help.

Cheers

Paul

According to Apple, you are definitely supposed to buy the more expensive full SL installer.

However, it is possible to install SL over Tiger if you buy the $29 update disk. IIRC the only Tiger people that rant into trouble were those who tried to update to SL with the drop-in DVD or the $10 update disk. However, we had several reports of people being able to update Tiger to SL with the $29 disk.
