My mac mini has a Power PC G4 processor. I have just installed 10.5.6 but see I that 10.5.8 is required to support the ipad. Since i have just bought 10.5.6 wonder if there is a way be to upgrade to 10.5.8 without buying yet another retail installer. Sorry if this is a totally stupid question and thanks for your reply!

10.5.8 is a free update. The only paid upgrades in OS X are for the major milestone release: 10.1 (although it was a freebie upgrade exception), 10.2, 10.3, 10.4, 10.5, 10.6 etc. All the releases between them are free. You should see 10.5.8 it in Software Update.

The reason why b.trovato was having problems was due to a lack of free disk space (he PMed me).
