Mostly I like list view. One folder I like icon view. I change it to icon view. But then my other folders are infected with icon view. There is no way to just assign that to one folder? thanks.

navigate to the folder you want, set to icon view, press command-j, choose 'always open in icon view'.

You've got to set it to icon view first.

one thing though is annoying, do you notice it, even after selecting to always open in icon view, the next folder I click from finder will open in icon view. I guess you to tell the computer to revert to list view?
Is there a way to tell the finder know you want a permanetnt defualt of list view --and when go to icon view --to revert automatically to list view?
