Hi everyone, when i do a clean install, or a disk image install, the os takes over 50gb. I am installing from a retail version of Snow Leopard. I think the install should only take about 9gb.

Can you be more specific on how you're doing the installs?

50gb is clearly not correct.

Thank you for the reply. I am using a retail version of Snow Leopard. I load the disk, then follow until i have finished the install. The dick has a single partition. Disk utility then shows that over 50gb have been written to the partition.

I have tried to restore a disk image from Time Machine, but that install also takes about 50gb.

I need help....... thanks in advance.
